Sheffield Is My Planet has created a spoof 1950’s public information film ‘Important advice from the Ministry of Compost’. With the Ministry’s top tips, you’ll be able to improve your gardening yield and cut carbon dioxide! They are also offering discounted compost bins for just £5 from Heeley City Farm. Watch the video and make a promise to compost on the Sheffield Is My Planet website to get your compost bin voucher.

Almost two thirds of the food thrown away in the UK could have been composted. Everything from vegetable scraps and egg shells, to tea bags and fruit peelings makes a great compost mix. By making simple changes at home that will save money whilst cutting our carbon dioxide emissions, we are reducing Sheffield’s carbon footpring and working to minimise the global impact of climate change.
