As part of the planning process, the council is inviting comments on our application for permission to install a water wheel on Kelham Island. Comments from local people are taken into account when the final decision is made.
This is a chance to have your say and tell the council whether you think the scheme should go ahead and why. It is useful for the Council to understand views about the scheme both from across Sheffield and from people living or working close-by to where the wheel would sit.
It would be a great help to the project if as many people as possible can find the time to send in a few lines. There is no need for a long letter. A short note would be fine, simply stating whether or not you support the scheme and a brief explanation as to why. It is important to try and use your own words and reflect your own opinion. The online planning consultation is very easy to use – just follow this link and press the ‘submit comments’ button when you get there.
If you want more information and ideas, you can find the planning documents and other consultation responses here. You can also read what those of us involved with bringing the project forwards think about the scheme and the associated planning issues here. The consultation is now well under way, so it would be great to get any comments in as soon as possible and at the latest by the 4th of March.
